Everything changes and Nothing changes

Shobana Kataria

In a haze, in a daze, walk the line, rush to work

Eat, sleep, work, repeat

Dare to look up, fight the urge, to run and hide.

Rushing. Panting. Working. Trying.

Wait, whats this? News. Virus? Flu?

Its coming. People dying. Stay indoors. Don’t touch anything.

Wash your hands. Don’t touch your face.

Where have you been? Have you been ill?

Ignore it. Eat, sleep, work, repeat.

What’s this? Government news?

Boris, what’s he saying?

Stay at home? What?!?!?

Restaurants are shut, no going out?

Shops and businesses closing, world’s gone mad.

What about my work?

My gym? Drinks out? Meals? Friends?

Places I go, people I see

All that busy-ness

Suddenly stops

Work at home, no travel.

Eat, sleep, work, repeat.

New normal.
