An Awakening - A Haiku by Savi Barkess-Patel

Earth in tears
Greed not need until
Catastrophe

Energy exchange
Nature’s Law of Balance
Maintained

Dormant blossom buds
Unfurling tender hearts
To radiant rays

Intoxicated
On filtered air so pure
Stealing nectar from bees

By Savi Barkess-Patel

Haiku:
A Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five morae, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons.
