POEM: THE VACCINE AND THE VARIANT - by Megster

Stuck in the house all they say not to let it phase you
But wave 2 knock the rollout plans back to stage 2
politicians please remember were the ones who made you
while you pledge allegiance to ones who pay you                                          
big pharma’s got the cure, governments just write a cheque
rolling out a vaccine and don’t even know the side effects
I guess they don’t have a choice, variant infections are on the rise
And you're screwed if your immune systems compromised                       
for the greater good, we all live in confinement
while our governments sell drugs on consignment
bring the cash on the first, so execs can
fatten their purse… anything to flatten the curve                                               
this is the new cancer, we need answers, they have a lot to give
but they’re mostly true lies and false positives
They say these are conspiracy theories and hysteria
But maybe we ask vaccine victims in Nigeria

THE GIFT OF HISTORY

Doug Dunn    The last time I studied history was 50 years ago. My teacher seemed to encouraged seemed my history class learn dates and important facts by heart. I remember listening to him read the French Revolution textbook while underlining the important bits. After two years I learned enough of European history to pass the exam. After school the only other history class I attended was at university where the history of science was part of my Astrophysics course. That was more of an inquiry than parrot learning and more interactive. After my school and university I had no more history education in that subject. I decided history was something not very relevant to my job as an IT trainer and was not something I enjoyed talking talk about with my friends and family. I still remember a few names of famous writers such as Voltaire, 1694-1778, and that he contributed to the French Revolution through being an outspoken advocate of civil liberties.
